Cactus and Succulent Soil Mix: The Ultimate Pro Mix Formula houseplant In late winter to earlyGrowing a healthy cactus and succulents has always been a bit of a challenge. These desert loving plants thrive in well drained soil that mimics their natural habitat, where water quickly seeps through sandy, porous ground. Poorly drained soil can lead to water retention, root rot, and other problems that stunt growth. That's why, after many years of experience, we have developed a soil mix that is ideal for growing strong and healthy cacti.
